PRUMPLUM and Plumity started the first day in Chiang Mai with Doi Suthep Temple
We landed in Chiang Mai at 8 AM on September 5th, 2025. It was the very first visit for Arimoto-san and Hana-san, making the city feel even more exciting. Our adventure began at the iconic Doi Suthep Temple, where we climbed all 306 steps to reach the top!

Dinner time is the most important!
Dinner time is always the highlight of the day! After exploring Chiang Mai from morning till evening, we wrapped up our perfect day at Han Thueng Chiang Mai, a well-known spot for authentic Northern Thai food. The dishes were so delicious that Arimoto-san couldn’t help but exclaim, ‘Lam Tae Tae!’ — a local phrase that means the same as ‘Oishii!!
6th September: A Sweet Meet-Up with PLUMITY, Thongpradit, and Umeshu Lovers!
After a full month of planning and anticipation, the day of our workshop finally arrived. To our surprise and delight, the seats filled up quickly — in fact, it was fully booked even before the big day came! The excitement didn’t stop there; on the actual day, we even had to add extra seats to welcome everyone who wanted to join. It was such an energizing feeling to see so many faces eager to be part of it. What truly made the experience special, though, was the warmth and kindness of the Chiang Mai people.

The concept of this workshop was to share the experiences of Arimoto san and Hana san, ume farmers and umeshu makers, straight from the heart of Minabe, Wakayama. Knowing that many people in Chiang Mai also enjoy crafting their own homemade umeshu, we thought it would be wonderful to bring everyone together. During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to taste Plumity Umeshu across four distinct labels — Plumity Black, Plumity White, Plumity Green, and Plumity Pink — and pairing with the Northern Food ! while hearing stories and insights directly from the Arimoto san about the care, artistry, and passion behind each bottle.
After the tasting session, the real fun began—it was time to roll up our sleeves and make our very own Umeshu. In front of each participant were shining green and red cheek Nankou Ume from Wakayama, little jewel-like konpeitō sugar, and Junmai sake. Step by step, everyone carefully layered the ingredients, listening to the soft clink of sugar crystals and the gentle splash of sake filling each jar.
By the end, every person had their own jar of Umeshu to take home. Of course, the hardest part now is waiting—patience is key. In about a year, when the flavors have slowly melded together, they’ll finally get to taste the drink they crafted with their own hands. :) Hana san said the most important is you have to say 'love' to the jar everyday !

And of course, after hearing Plumity’s heartfelt stories, everyone was inspired—they all wanted to visit Wakayama for themselves! To keep that excitement alive, we handed out beautifully illustrated Wakayama guide booklets, so each participant could take a little piece of the region home and start dreaming about their future journey in JAPAN!
Time flew by so quickly! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this workshop so memorable. And a very special thanks to P’Gan, the owner of Thongpradit & Friends Bar, for the warm and kind welcome—it truly felt like home. We can’t wait to return to Chiang Mai again and create more moments like this together!

If you’re in Chiang Mai and looking for a bar with a great vibe, Thong Pradit & Friends: A Fermentation Bar is highly recommended. 🍶🍻 Specializing in craft beer sake and umeshu, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy something unique!!
